Meet Our Founder, Trustees & Staff Team

Mick Denby
CHAIR
Mick joined the Trustee Board in April 2024 as Treasurer and has since taken over the role as Chair in March 2025.
His professional background is Sales, Marketing and Management roles in the Software industry, both in the UK and overseas, as well as being involved in running a number of small businesses.
Mick also volunteers at Kidsbank assisting with the delivery of items to the families which Kidsbank supports.
Originally from Sheffield, Mick is a life long supporter of Sheffield Wednesday. Alongside football, Mick enjoys going to local race meetings and also enjoys a nice pint of Guinness in his local.

Laura Bellis
DEPUTY CHAIR
Laura Bellis is our Vice Chair. A Solicitor working for a Welsh Local Authority, she came to KidsBank whilst on the Committee of the Cheshire and North Wales Junior Lawyers Division.
Laura was vital in securing grant funds that enabled KidsBank to move to LOVES Garage and extend our age-range and reach.
Living on a dairy farm in Flintshire, she also assists with collections and deliveries for the Community Fridge in Buckley and volunteers with Buckley Town Football Club.
In her spare time she enjoys running with Chester Road Runners and is a keen follower of football and Formula 1. She can often be found testing her knowledge at a pub quiz with her husband and friends.

Jo Nutt
TREASURER
As Treasurer Jo has day-to-day responsibility for the finances of the charity. With over 20 years experience supporting charitable organisations in financial, leadership and operational positions, she brings a wealth of knowledge to her role at KidsBank.
An Optometrist based in Hewsall, she became involved with KidsBank during her time working as Administrator at Northgate Church, KidsBank’s first home. She has day-to-day responsibilities for the finances of the charity.
In her spare time she enjoys singing and playing saxophone, and is a member of local performance choir ‘A Handbag of Harmonies’. She is also actively involved in the life of Northgate Church and enjoys running and pilates.

Chris Howse
SECRETARY

Danni Millington
Trustee/Referral Liaison
Danni Millington initially came into contact with KidsBank through her role working with children – finding it to be one of the only places of support to go to during the pandemic. Danni was blown away by the commitment to families during this time and therefore became a regular at volunteer events – often with her baby in tow!
Danni was overwhelmed to be asked to speak at the launch event of KidsBank’s new premises at Garden Lane and loves nothing more than being part of the delivery team at Christmas. Danni is the point of contact for anyone needing a referral that does not have access to a professional.
In her spare time Danni enjoys being in nature with family, friends and her rescue dog, George. Either that or dancing the night away anywhere that has live music!

Kate Mylchreest
Trustee
Kate has been working in the not for profit sector in fundraising for over 20 years. Starting off her career in human rights , she is now development director at Storyhouse in Chester.
She has experience of all aspects of fundraising including corporate, trusts and foundations, and major donor fundraising. She prides herself on her excellent relationship management and communication skills .
She is responsible for PR at KidsBank and also supports with fundraising.
Kate has a passion for social justice and has a strong desire to build and promote a more equal society.
Kate lives with her family in Chester. She enjoys reading and loves going to gigs and festivals.

Katie Henderson
TRUSTEE
Katie first started volunteering with Kidsbank during lockdown. As a recently separated and newly single mother, she felt drawn to support local families who are going through challenging times.
Katie organised KidsBank’s first Christmas gifting campaign in 2020 which has grown year on year.
With a background in customer engagement, along with her role as Head of Guest Experience at the Chester Racecourse, Katie brings a wealth of knowledge in operations, fundraising and events.
Katie loves getting outdoors in nature and is passionate about travel, yoga and wellbeing.

Dee Denton
CEO
Dee is the CEO at KidsBank and is responsible for the effective and efficient running of the charity and its future development.
Dee joined KidsBank in May 2023 as Operations Manager, taking on the role as CEO in April 2024.
Her previous role as Charity Manager for The Chester Bluecoat Charity focused on implementing procedures to enable a strong governance culture. Dee is passionate about ensuring greater opportunities for all children and site on the Advisory Board of the baby Bank Alliance.
Dee has over 10 years’ experience in operations, working as Store Operations Director at Aldi Stores Limited. She brings a wealth of legal, financial and operations knowledge to ensure we make the most of our resources and support as many families as possible.
She enjoys running completing various running challenges to support KidsBank.

Nikki Smith
FLINTSHIRE HUB MANAGER

OPERATIONS ASSISTANT
Vicky joined the team in September 2024. She provides support to both our Flintshire & Chester Hub Managers, as we continue to support a growing number of families.

Katie Knott
CHESTER HUB MANAGER
Katie is the KidsBank Hub Manager. In her role she looks after our award-winning team of 30 volunteers, and manages the day-to-day processing of donations; the preparation of referrals, and organising the deliveries to the families we work with.
Katie works closely with the volunteers as they give their time to carefully sorting donations, and preparing our referrals with the greatest love and care. She enjoys working with the team, as well as greeting visitors and receiving donations.
Katie first joined the KidsBank team as a volunteer 3 years ago. She is passionate about giving our very best to the families we work with, as well as ensuring a safe, empowering and enjoyable work-place for our valued volunteers.
In her spare time Katie loves to paint, and spend time in the outdoors with her husband and two young children, here in Chester.

Becky Kenton
PROJECTS MANAGER
Becky is our Project Manager at KidsBank. She is responsible for the effective running of our School Uniform and Christmas projects.
Becky also looks after our Pop Ups where KidsBank goes out into the community.
Her background is in administration and customer service with her most recent roles being in the educational and healthcare fields.
Becky’s commitment to KidsBank comes from her own experiences. Having lived in poverty as both a child and as a parent, she knows only too well the vital need for an organisation such as ours. Becky can relate on a very personal level to the families that we assist.
During her spare time, Becky can usually be found with her head in a book. She also loves to attend concerts and the theatre with her husband and teenage daughter.
